The Diploma of Screen and Media, Specialist Makeup Services  is Australia’s most comprehensive professional makeup artistry course covering everything from core makeup discipline through advance fashion, cinema makeup and special effects makeup techniques.  This intense program is meticulous and allows students to graduate industry ready!

Diploma modules have been designed to even challenge qualified makeup artists although, no previous makeup skills are required to commence the course.  As the name suggests, the course is designed to accelerate the students learning to meet the demands of the modern makeup industry.  Through proven teaching methods and more hands on practical lessons than any other makeup course in the country, the Diploma Course is the only course of it’s kind!

Students develop an eye for detail with sophisticated precision.  Since 2011, the Huxley School of Makeup has been at the forefront of makeup artistry education in Australia with graduates successfully challenging the norm, and excelling in all aspects of the makeup industry.  The Diploma Course allows students gain skills which encompass all the requirement of professional makeup artists working in the fields of Film, TV, Fashion, Photographic, Bridal and Cosmetics Industries.  In class real world scenarios and work experience placement give HUXLEY students a deeper understanding of makeup and a competitive edge when applying for positions or booking jobs.

TUITION FEES

$18,500

The course runs for 28weeks with intense and meticulous modules that cover everything from core makeup discipline through to advanced technique and Special Effects training. These tuition fees cover everything you need to become a professional makeup artist including; a full portfolio shot by a professional fashion photographer, and a video portfolio of the looks your create.

We also offer an amazing makeup and tool kit that can be purchased for $2000. This kit contains all the essentials for a makeup artist, and products that can be used throughout the course. This course can be placed on it’s own payment plan, with an admin fee of $250.

PAYMENT OPTIONS

Upfront Payment

This is the total cost of the course. The kit payment is separate from this.

VET STUDENT LOAN

This is a study now pay later personal loan from the Australian Government that provides eligible students access ($10,150) of capped funding to help pay for their studies. The remaining tuition fee must be paid in full, or via a payment plan if eligible.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfers

Fast track your way to a formal qualification by earning credit for the things you already know. Getting recognition for the skills you’ve gained from the workplace or previous learning means less study time for you, and getting the paper to prove you’re qualified a whole lot sooner. We can assess your skills, directly apply credits from previous successful study, and give you advanced standing in your course.

There may be some classes that fall outside of the regular tuition hours however, at the beginning of term students receive a calendar including all of their class dates and times. Finishing times can vary depending on the module and photo shoots.

Work experience opportunities are provided to students.  These times vary between intakes and fall outside class hours.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:

No previous makeup experience is required, however, students must demonstrate a passion and enthusiasm for makeup and the makeup industry.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Entry into this program will include completing the Huxley School of Makeup application form, followed by an interview at the Huxley School of Makeup. Students must bring the following to the interview-

– Identification (passport or drivers license)
– Year 12 Certificate, or Certificate IV or above qualification (if applicable)
– Any previous examples of your makeup (where applicable)

Skill and knowledge assessments are an essential step in progressing through your course. You may be assessed in a number of ways while you are studying at TAFE Queensland, including observation, written assessment, questioning, portfolios, work samples, third-party feedback, and through recognition of prior learning.
